NMC Pass Rates for NCLEX

NMC NCLEX pass rates

2006-2007 15 out of 26 passed = 57%
2007-2008 9 out of 12 = 75%

I wish there were some statistics on how many of the students are not U.S. citizens or green card holders. I spoke to a korean businessman today and he told me of 3 graduates that he knows of personally that didn't get jobs at CHC and they are not allowed to work at private clinics. If there are lets say 6 out of the 12 that are local, why can't CHC hire them. Or why would they hire them when they can recruit a foreign nurse for less with years of experience.

Emmanuel College
LPN course
2 students passed out of 20 students as of June 29, 2009 a full 6 months after graduation.

Second cohort of possibly 20 students is set to graduate from LPN program on Aug. 8, 2009. Foreign students without any other status would have to be employed prior to Nov. 28th to be eligible to remain in the Commonwealth. There is no U.S. visa category for LPN and no regional labor rate. So LPN's could still be paid lower rates than the mainland up until 2014. I predict that the LPN students will be in greater demand after the current two year work permits expire and that CHC and local clinics will hire more LPNs to replace the R.N.'s that they did not secure U.S. visa's for.
