The NCSBN recently announced an increased passing standard for the NCLEX exam to take effect on the April 1, 2010.

The NCLEX was revised back in 2007 to make it more difficult to pass and now they are trying to make it even more difficult this April.

The current passing standard is -0.2100 logits on the NCLEX-RN logistic scale, 0.070 logits higher than the previous standard of -0.2800 from 2006. The new passing standard is -0.16 logits on the NCLEX-RN logistic scale, 0.05 logits higher than the previous standard.

New graduates may not want to wait 6 months to take the NCLEX exam and schedule it before the end of March.
